Marketing Tip: Know your target demographic! And no, it (usually) isn’t “everyone.”
Different demographics (different ages, genders, races, professions, hobbies, tastes, wants and needs, political affiliations, and more) expect and desire different things. It might be damn near impossible to impress them all and drive them all to your business. For instance, a 75 year old man and an 18 year old woman are typically not looking for the same products and services, and they certainly won’t respond the same way to the same messaging aimed at both of them.
Landscapers are one example of this. Homeowners and commercial properties are typically their main demographics. Landscapers shouldn’t be advertising to children, renters, and so on.
Your product or service should also cater to a specific demographic, rather than to many demographics, so you can master the craft of that specific service or product for a specific type of person, business, or other organization. If you do the same type of thing everyday, you eventually become a master of your trade or field.
Remember, niches get riches!
